Jobs

Q: What steps should the city take to bring more jobs to Columbus?

A: The city should be an asset and an ally to local businesses - not an impediment. There should be no winners or losers with tax breaks and incentives made to individual companies. Tax breaks and incentives should be equally available to all businesses, thereby offering all businesses economic certainty. Also, no individual business would be threatened with extinction as a result of tax breaks given to a competitor. Taking the stance of a limited role approach to government, the city could offer businesses additional economic freedom by ceasing from imposing excessive restrictions, and also eliminating a middleman approach to business activities.
